Episode 8: Critical Conversations - Rediscovering Reading in Quarantine

Episode Summary

In this episode, Nicole and Melissa talk with Laura Robb, a literary expert, speaker, educator with over 40 years of experience, and prolific author of important works on the topic of literacy, Evan Robb, school principal of over 20 years, former English teacher, TEDx speaker, and author several books including of one of Melissa's favorites- The Ten-Minute Principal, and Marilyn Muller, founder of the Moms for Free and Appropriate Education and mother of a child with dyslexia about how we can use this time as families to discover or rediscover a love for reading while we are sheltering-in-place. We also started off the episode with Yashmi Mistry, a mom of two boys who are very intelligent but are not huge fans of reading. (While we lost her after the intro., we made sure her questions and perspectives were covered. Don't worry, we will have her back in a future episode! The input of parents just like you, is what makes this show work.)
